Our Story: The Evolution of Cedar Farm & Nursery

"From a young age, Jennifer and David were captivated by the natural world. Growing up a thousand miles apart—David among the lush botanical gardens of Florida and Jennifer tending seeds in her family’s garden—their paths finally crossed in 2004. At the time, Jennifer was managing a local garden center where David worked as a landscape foreman. That serendipitous meeting sparked a partnership that eventually grew into a shared life and a new dream.

A Twenty Year Vision

Cedar Farm & Nursery is the culmination of two decades of professional growth. After years in the green industry, we have realized our long-held vision: to establish a specialty nursery defined by sophisticated design, expert plant curation, and a deeply personal level of customer service.

Restoration & Transformation

In December 2022, the real work began. We reclaimed the land from decades of neglect- removing invasive vegetation and trash and transforming the property into a horticultural hub.

The property features two distinct structures: our custom-built boutique Farm Shop, which opened in 2024 to house our dried flowers and houseplants, and a dedicated equipment and supply barn for River Rock Landscape, LLC. Together with our evolving display gardens and growing fields, these spaces allow us to serve both retail customers and landscape clients from one cohesive location.

A Design & Horticultural Hub

Cedar Farm & Nursery serves as headquarters for 2 complementary businesses.

River Rock Landscape, LLC: In Spring 2023, David and mentor, Alan Miller moved the landscape design and construction firm to the property. The farm/nursery acts as a living portfolio of their craftsmanship.

Cedar Farm & Nursery: Jennifer transitioned her botanical boutique Muhly & Cedar to the farm. Now rebranded as Cedar Farm & Nursery, the shop offers a specialized retail experience for plant enthusiasts of all skill levels

By combining a small, specialty nursery with full scale landscape design and construction services, we offer an immersive destination for those seeking professional expertise, unique botanical finds, and a moment of calm.
